Felicity Lott: Dressed for the Part

After a lovely preview for the Friends of Sussex Hospices, Firle Place on 23rd September, Felicity Lott: Dressed for the Part is now here for you to enjoy!

I was lucky to to shoot this short film about Felicity Lott, the much-loved soprano, with our mutual friend, Lyn Thomas, months before Felicity very sadly passed away in May 2026. In a moving interview, Felicity, affectionately known as ‘Flott’,  recalls her mother putting her on the stage as a child, becoming an international opera star, and the striking clothes that helped to make her career.

Flott discusses the fabulous dresses that she wore for recitals by designers such as Givenchy, Bruce Oldfield, Charles and Patricia Lester and the costumes made for her by Glyndebourne and director Laurent Pelly.  A large selection of these will be sold by Kerry Taylor Auctions, London and online, on 13 October 2026. As she had planned, the proceeds of the auction will go to Sussex Hospices, of which Flott was a patron. Lyn, Catalina Balan and I donated our time to produce the film both to celebrate Felicity but also to support this cause which was close to her heart. Please share. Thank you.

The full film linked above is 14 minutes, 19 seconds long.
